Early Learning, Literacy Coach, Dyslexia Specialist– K–4

With over 30 years in education, Coach Kathy Green brings wisdom, warmth, and a deep love for young learners to BOLD School. A former elementary principal and award-winning teacher, she’s devoted her career to early childhood, literacy, music, and the arts—especially helping kids learn to read using Orton-Gillingham and science-of-reading strategies.

After years in leadership, Coach Kathy felt God calling her back to what she loves most: working directly with children in a faith-filled setting. “I prayed for a place where I could share my love of learning and my love for Jesus,” she says. “God answered clearly and beautifully.”

She’ll be joined this year by her certified therapy dog, Cooper, who brings extra comfort and joy to students during their learning journey.

Coach Kathy is a member of First Baptist Church in Alvord and loves books, cooking, roller skating, speed-puzzling, and spending time with her grown children. At BOLD School, she’s excited to nurture faith, spark a love for reading, and support families in helping their children grow into confident, Christ-centered learners.
