A 3-hour self-paced learning schedule motivates students by giving them back half of the school day to engage in other endeavors instead of sitting in class listening to lectures.
Students will utilize various research-based adaptive software programs for content, such as Khan Academy, IXL, Lexia Learning, Zern, Edgenuity, Rosetta Stone, TBD Coding Curriculum, and others as appropriate.
Tarrant County College will provide some high school content as curriculum and/or dual credit opportunities.
These thoughtfully designed resources promote mastery and rapid progress, enabling students to understand content many times faster than their peers in a traditional school environment. Intelligent data provides each student with personalized learning activities on their level. Additionally, our learning coaches frequently review live reports and offer consistent support, motivation, and care throughout the entire process. If a student needs additional content support, tutors are on call and available to help.
Earning an associate degree in high school through dual credit programs, such as our partnership with Tarrant County College, offers students a significant academic and financial advantage. This opportunity allows students to graduate high school with up to two years of college coursework completed, saving both time and money on their higher education journey. Dual credit courses prepare students for the rigor of college academics while providing transferable credits, giving them a head start toward earning a bachelor’s degree or entering the workforce. Combined with the unique experiences offered through BOLD School—such as global experiences, business ownership, project development, and technology certifications—students will stand out and excel in a competitive college admissions process, putting them ahead of their peers and positioning them for long-term success.
Project-based learning (PBL) is a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects. PBL engages students in deep and long-lasting experiences that inspire a love of learning and a personal connection to their academic abilities. Our projects may include working on a passion project, starting a business, learning to work as a team, or mastering survival techniques. When students are involved in self-directed learning, the possibilities are limited only by their imagination.
We believe that the Bible is God's active and true Word. Students will read and reflect on scriptures daily, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide and teach them. Discussions will focus on love and understanding without delving into specific doctrines or theologies. Students are encouraged to explore these questions deeper at home.
Socratic discussions are based on the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates and his use of dialogue to help his students think for themselves. The goal is not acquiring knowledge via the expert; the aim is student understanding via active thinking out loud and probing of ideas by all students.
The ultimate goal of using the Socratic method is to foster critical thinking by examining one’s inaccurate or incomplete beliefs, and the biases, blind spots, and assumptions that lead to them. Ideally, a student will emerge from a Socratic seminar with greater clarity and depth of their own understanding. Empathy is another benefit. Students show respect for one another by listening actively, acknowledging one another’s input, and sharing diverse perspectives.
Our school provides students with transformative global opportunities to network, serve, and share their faith through mission trips and international partnerships. These experiences encourage students to step beyond their comfort zones, engage with diverse cultures, and use their unique gifts to make a meaningful impact. From exploring the world’s needs to sharing the love of Christ in both word and action, students develop leadership skills, a broader perspective, and a deeper understanding of their role in advancing God’s Kingdom. These journeys are more than travel—they’re life-changing opportunities to grow spiritually, academically, and personally while leaving a lasting impact on the communities they serve.
At BOLD School, students will master two essential languages: Spanish and Coding. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States and a vital tool for communication in a globally connected economy. From fostering meaningful relationships to enhancing career opportunities in industries like healthcare, business, and education, Spanish opens doors to understanding and engaging with the diverse communities that shape our nation. Meanwhile, coding is often called the language of the future, as it underpins the technology driving innovation in nearly every field. By learning to code, students gain the ability to interact with and shape the digital world, ensuring they’re equipped to thrive in an era increasingly defined by artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced computing. Together, these languages empower students with the skills to connect, communicate, and lead in the 21st century.
